Protocols for Equity
Summary
The National School Reform Faculty describes protocols as structured processes and guidelines to promote meaningful, efficient communication, problem solving, and learning. Protocols give time for active listening and reflection, and ensure that all voices in the group are heard and honored. Using protocols appropriately in meetings with colleagues, students, parents, and others helps you build the skills and culture necessary for productive collaborative work.

The protocols found in the Supporting Resources section are a few of the protocols from National School Reform Faculty’s Open-Access Materials. These protocols might be used by collaborative teams to ensure that equity and parity are emphasized and valued so all voices will be heard. The Use Guide for Equity Protocols is also included in the Supporting Resources section.
